The Core Thesis
Agentic AI amplifies whatever your engineering culture already is. Disciplined or chaotic.
This is the single most important thing to understand about Agentic AI adoption. It is not a transformation tool. It is an accelerant. Organisations with strong delivery practices, clear service boundaries, good test coverage, well-defined contracts, and teams that own their deployments end-to-end will find that agents accelerate good work. Organisations without those foundations will find that agents accelerate entropy: more code, produced faster, with less understanding of what it does or why.
The implication is uncomfortable but necessary: you cannot adopt Agentic AI effectively without strong delivery practices. And modern delivery practices are increasingly AI-native. These are not two problems. They are one.
This means the work of "setting up Agentic AI dev teams" is not primarily a tooling exercise. It is a delivery capability exercise that happens to involve new tools. The tools are the least interesting part.
